Quality & Safety Manager (CASR Part 42, 145, CAR 30)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are keen to talk to qualified and experienced Quality Assurance and Safety Managers to lead and continuously improve all aspects of the organization's Engineering/Airworthiness Quality and Safety system. This role will be charged with reviewing our current quality and safety processes supporting operations within our challenging operational environment, and to develop best-practice strategies to support the upcoming growth of aerial firefighting, particularly large air tanker and large rotary firebombers within Australia and internationally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine QA and Safety functions as per documented regulatory requirements
- Responsible for monitoring the amendment of the organization's procedures and standard practices (MOE, including associated procedures)
- Promote Safety and Compliance across the organization
- Conduct internal audits and act as QA representative for audits with customers and regulators
- Conduct investigations of incidents and accidents
- Plan and conduct the company audit program across all facilities/bases
- Management and coordination of Company Maintenance Authorizations
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations
- Ensuring QA records for personnel are maintained for all operational staff
- Managing safety management records on hazards and risks to ensure a safe work environment
- Mentor and guide company personnel on Safety, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
- Manage Oversight and Approvals of Company Vendors.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years’ experience working in an Aviation Quality and Safety role
- Sound knowledge and comprehension of relevant CASA regulations and processes
- Ability to be authorized according to the requirements of CASR Part 42 and 145
- Experience in implementing or maintaining quality management systems
- Ability to work well within a small team
- Lead Auditor qualification from a recognized Institution
- Experience in dealing with aviation regulatory authorities (i.e., CASA and/or FAA)
- Management experience including demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Change management principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Formal Human Factors Qualification desirable
Certificate IV in WHS and/or Training and Assessment desirable
