WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, and self-motivated Senior Engineer (Part 145 Responsible Manager) to join our Fixed Wing operations at our Richmond Base in New South Wales, Australia.
The Senior Engineer (Part 145 Responsible Manager) shall possess demonstrated supervisory experience and will be responsible for supervising and leading the fixed wing engineering team. Other duties will be include certifying for aircraft maintenance.
The right candidate will have the ability to work in a team environment conducting aerial firefighting and flood response, crew/equipment transport, reconnaissance, search and rescue, disaster mitigation and related operations in support of emergency services. They must have a strong focus on safety and customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aircraft Maintenance - Carry out maintenance on aircraft for which they are suitably licensed including the certification/coordination for maintenance carried out and/or coordinated by themselves, AME’s and Apprentices.
- Training Activities – provide on the job training and direct supervision of unlicensed AMEs and apprentices under their control.
- Aircraft component and aircraft materials activities
- Manage the ordering of spares, components and materials as required for a specific maintenance task. Ensure all tools and equipment meet calibration requirements and are in good working order prior to use, including operational equipment.
- Supervision – provide ongoing mentoring and coaching to staff to meet department goals
- Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to current data and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
- Records Management – Ensure that work sheets, logs, tracking updates and other required records are complete and submitted in a timely manner.

- Ability to obtain an Australian Class 2 Medical
- Excellent crew resource management and communication skills.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience holding the position of a Part 145 Responsible Manger or have the experience to be approved by CASA to hold the position.
- 3 years maintenance experience on either B737- 300, Citation V Airplanes, or other Business Jets
- 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- 1 year experience training AMEs and Apprentices
- Advanced Technical Writing Skills
- Previous experience using Computerized Aircraft Maintenance Program (CAMP)
- Review all technical training requirements for the B737- 300 and Citation V aircraft and work directly with the Chief Engineer to develop training plans as needed
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Rotary wing aircraft experience, preferably on Bell 412
- Aircraft maintenance experience in aerial firefighting environment preferred
- Aircraft maintenance experience in remote/field locations
- Communicates effectively
