USA Payroll Administrator
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
The USA Payroll Administrator is responsible for the biweekly processing of payroll for approximately 160 US employees as well as the benefits administration for the US employees; US payroll preparation; processing payroll information; completing and submitting payroll reports and maintaining payroll records.
The ideal candidate would be an excellent communicator, extremely organized, able to prioritize tasks and manage time and workload. The ideal candidate would also be very detail oriented and enjoy learning in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be located at our Port Alberni, BC office in Canada. Applicants must have knowledge of USA payroll preparation, processing, tax and audit processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring biweekly payroll is processed accurately and on time for hourly and salaried employees
- Processing 3rd party remittances and deductions
- Reconciling government payroll remittances and ensure accurate application
- Maintain data in preparation for payroll tax audits
- Maintain and ensure accurate time entry and approval processing of timesheets in timekeeping software
- Processing US benefit plan set up for employees and provide enrollment information.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements and reports, including W-2s
- Perform all tasks with consideration for regulations and requirements in that jurisdiction.
- Accomplishing special projects as assigned.
- Act as the backup/ support for Canadian Payroll.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of a college level education with a focus in Finance, Business or Accounting (Degree in those fields would be preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive US payroll and benefits experience
- Experience with Workers Compensation claims
- Experience with W-2 year-end processing
- Experience with 401K programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of tax and deduction laws that apply to US and payroll
- Experience working with UKG, Ulti-Pro and/or Workforce Management would be considered an asset
- Experience with Payroll implementation would be considered an asset
$60K - $80K plus company paid benefits, vacation and 401K/Pension package.
