Coulson Aviation operates across the world with a fleet of large aerial firefighting assets consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet of Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™, C130 Hercules, Citation and King Air Lead Planes, CH47D Chinooks, Sikorsky UH60, S61 and S76 and Bell 412 helicopters we have the ability to perform rapid aerial fire suppression missions, including initial attack and extended attack protocols, search and rescue, and a wide array of special mission flights.
Coulson Aviation Australia also operate and manage New South Wales Rural Fire Service-owned aircraft in all aspects of maintenance, fleet support systems and management, and operating personnel.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are currently recruiting a qualified Chief Engineer to be a part of our team. The Chief Rotary Engineer is responsible for certifying aircraft maintenance. The incumbent possesses demonstrated supervisory experience and is responsible for supervising the Bell 412 maintenance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate repair and/or maintenance tasks, both in the hangar and when aircraft is remotely situated.
- Manage the ordering of components, materials and spares as required for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that work sheets, logs, tracking updates and other required records are complete and submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure all tools and equipment meet calibration requirements and are in good working order prior to use.
- Manage roster, ensuring adequate coverage for maintenance activities.
- Plan, cost, and organize the training requirements for employees to meet organizational needs.
- Provide on the job training to employees as needed and ensure direct supervision of unlicensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and apprentices within your team.
- Review and manage timecards and expense approvals accurately and to company policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 66 Aircraft Engineer License, preferably without exclusions.
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Minimum of 3 years’ maintenance experience on B412 helicopters.
- Experience and willingness to train AMEs and apprentices.
- Advanced technical writing skills.
- Communicate effectively.
- Exercises good judgment and makes effective, sound, timely, and informed decisions.
- Currently hold or can obtain a Red ASIC card and/or RAAF passes.
