Coulson Aviation operates with a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet, we can run rapid aerial fire suppression, including initial attack and extended attack protocols.

Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire a Financial Analyst.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
This full-time position has been created due to the rapidly expanding operations in Port Alberni, B.C. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Finance department at Coulson Group of Companies. The Financial Analyst plays a vital role by collecting, interpreting, and using data to help improve business performance and achieve departmental and organizational goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Create reports and visualizations to present findings to management and other stakeholders.
- Use data to identify areas for improvement and suggest actionable solutions.
- Develop and implement new data collection and analysis techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Ensuring the integrity of data including labor tracking, inventory movement, work order management and job cost analysis.
- Develop and maintain proposal bid models.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Financial Planning and Analysis function.
- Work closely with other departments to gather information and ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis .
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, finance, computer science, or related discipline.
- Courses in statistics, data analysis, computer programming, and business management.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel, PowerBI).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and presentation.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
BENEFITS:
- $70,000 - $80,000/year.
