Coulson Aviation operates with a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet, we can run rapid aerial fire suppression, including initial attack and extended attack protocols.

Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire an Operations Crew Scheduler.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
The Operations Crew Scheduler is responsible for organizing and managing flight and maintenance crew schedules in compliance with aviation regulations, industry standards, and company policies. This role ensures that there are sufficient crew members available for flight operations and maintenance, handles last-minute schedule changes, and works closely with the Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Director of Flight Operations, as well as the Directors of Maintenance.
This is a full-time position that can be located in Port Alberni, on Vancouver Island or in Thermal, California. Candidates must be eligible to work in the country for which they are applying.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and schedule flight and maintenance crews, ensuring adequate crew coverage for each flight.
- Coordinate with flight operations and maintenance to adjust schedules based on delays, cancellations, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations regarding crew work/rest cycles, flight hours, and qualifications. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of crew schedules and availability.
- Monitor crew availability, taking into account vacation time, sickness, and other leaves of absence.
- Act as the primary point of contact for flight and maintenance crews regarding their schedules and any potential changes.
- Develop contingency plans for staffing and scheduling during high-demand periods or unforeseen disruptions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, labor laws, and crew qualifications.
- Bachelors degree in Aviation or Logistics preferred but not required.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Experience with scheduling software, tools, and systems to input and track crew schedules.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and adjust to changing conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
- Problem solving skills to address scheduling conflicts and disruptions.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada or USA.
