Coulson Aviation is a global aerial firefighting company that operates in Canada, the USA, Australia, and Chile.
Coulson Aviation operates with a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet, we can run rapid aerial fire suppression, including initial attack and extended attack protocols.
Coulson Aviation is a part of the Coulson Group of companies. We are a growing organization that has been in business for 65 years.
Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire a Recruiter.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
The Recruiter will manage the end-to-end recruitment process for their specifically assigned roles and will support as requested for other positions being worked by other HR leaders. The recruiter will facilitate staffing needs, post the positions on a variety of sites, source candidates, shortlist, and interview candidates. It is the Recruiter's job to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey, maintaining timely communication and professionalism. As a key partner in the employee lifecycle, the HR Recruiter will also contribute to broader talent acquisition initiatives and tasks that align with the company’s strategic goals and values.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with the hiring managers to understand hiring needs and the role requirements being posted for.
- Manage job postings on various channels – social media (LinkedIn), Indeed, Teamtailor or any defined platform described by the company.
- Review resumes and assess candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit and share relevant candidate profiles with the hiring manager.
- Schedule initial interviews for all positions. Take detailed notes in interviews and share opinions of each candidate with the hiring manager.
- Conduct phone or video interviews to determine candidate alignment with job requirements.
- Administer pre-employment assessments, screening tests, reference checks and action other needs as requested.
- Prepare candidates for interviews and provide them with insights about the company, team, role and conduct interview with the hiring manager if needed.
- Gather and relay feedback between candidates and hiring teams in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Build long-term relationships with strong candidates for future opportunities (talent pooling).
- Coordinate with the hiring manager and HR team to develop job offers for the successful candidate.
- Update the hiring team as things are being discussed/negotiated.
- Ensure a smooth handoff to the onboarding team once offers are accepted.
- Accurately update candidate records and interview notes.
- Update relevant remarks about candidates on Indeed and in the ATS.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future positions.
- Provide regular reports on hiring and candidate feedback.
- Share feedback from the recruiting process to improve and develop recruitment strategy.
- Implement and follow the recruitment strategy that is developed.
- Partner with the Marketing Manager on recruitment branding projects.
- Provide administration support to the HR team as needed.
- Works directly with and supports the HR Director.
- Exposure to Canada, US and Australia recruitment.
- Provide reports and updates based on the KPIs being monitored.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree or College Certificate in a relevant field such as business administration, preferred.
- 7+ years of Talent Acquisition/Recruiting experience.
- 5+ years of ATS and Recruitment program experience.
- 5+ years of full life cycle recruitment experience.
- Experience recruiting in the US or Australia is an asset.
- Experience in the aviation industry is an asset.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other video conferencing programs.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft, Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with HRIS.
