Coulson Aviation operates with a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet, we can run rapid aerial fire suppression, including initial attack and extended attack protocols.

Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire a Human Resources Advisor.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a Human Resources Advisor with a continuous improvement mindset and excellent interpersonal skills. This role will specifically support Canadian human resource functions with a strong focus on administration, records management, employee relations, recruitment, and onboarding.
This position will support the Coulson Group of Companies and will support Canadian operations.
This position is based in Port Alberni, BC, Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the success of the company by supporting onboarding processes, employment processing, document storage, and records keeping, assigned employee relations tasks, as well as planned and unplanned project management.
- Work one on one with different hiring managers on 360-degree recruitment, which includes the development of job descriptions, posting jobs through our ATS and other external platforms, search planning, and as required, aggressive sourcing of passive candidates, interviewing and presenting vetted candidates.
- Work in unison with the human resources team to help implement policies, procedures, culture, and values across the organization.
- Conduct a periodic wage analysis to develop and maintain a division wide salary range.
- As required, assist in the creation of company documents by researching topics of interest and performing reviews/edits of documents in progress before reaching roll out.
- Proactively work to learn and maintain knowledge of legal, employment related regulatory requirements.
- Supports preparation of federal reporting requirements.
- Update departmental spreadsheets used for internal reports, performance reviews, etc.
- Updates information in the company HRIS as well as other clerical and administrative duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 5 years of direct human resources experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of full cycle recruitment experience.
- Proficiency with different types of HR software programs (HRIS, ATS, compensation & benefits programs, etc.).
- Comfortable with taking on special projects as assigned (Employment Equity, Accessibility Planning, internal initiatives, etc.).
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Experience researching and presenting findings related to HR project work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
BENEFITS:
- $25.85 - $40.87/hr.
